• Things You Need to Store in your Emergency Kit

Man Completing Emergency Preparation List by EquipmentBeing ready for an emergency never hurt anybody. Emergency kits have saved millions of lives over the world for the past couple of decades, which is why it is essential to store it in your home, car, and office. But what do you need to include in your emergency kit though?

Sure, whistles and 100-watt siren speakers are already obvious choices, but what else do you need to know? Today, we will discuss what those are, so make sure to read ahead.

      Medicines

If you regularly take medications prescribed by your doctor, always fill it up in case of an emergency. You should also remember to stack on over-the-counter drugs such as antihistamines, painkillers, laxatives, anti-diarrhea medication and paracetamols, to name a few.

These medications are essential in case you find yourself stuck somewhere you cannot easily escape right away.

      Emergency Supplies

As we have mentioned earlier, whistles and speaker sirens are some of the most important things that should be in your kit. These things will be helpful when you are in a certain place, and you cannot get out easily.

The police, firefighters, and other people included in the rescue team can hear your distress call easily when you have a whistle and siren. If you want, you can also equip your vehicle with LED lights so you can use them whenever you have an emergency on the road.

Other must-haves are candles, scissors, an opener, a knife, sewing kit, hand-held radio, batteries, and a wrench.

      Water and Food

Nobody can survive without food and water. Again, this is important if ever you get stuck in your home, and you cannot go out. Keep at least one gallon of water per day for each person and pet in your home. Your food stack should always be at least three days’ worth, ready to eat, and non-perishable.

There is nothing like being over-prepared when it comes to emergencies. Always be ready, buy these things ahead, and be safer during a crisis!
